AIS Airlines expands European operations as new operator for Airidea in Italy
Lelystad, 18 August 2026 – AIS Airlines is further expanding its European operations and will become the new airline operator for Italian company Airidea SRL. AIS Airlines will take over the operation of Airidea’s existing commercial services, operating the routes with a Jetstream 32. Airidea and AIS Airlines will shortly announce when tickets will become available for booking, together with further details regarding the first flight to be operated by AIS Airlines.
Airidea offers connections from Genoa to several key destinations across Italy. Under the new partnership, AIS Airlines will operate Airidea’s existing services to destinations including Trieste, Bergamo, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Olbia and Alghero.
Daily regional connections
Airidea focuses on providing fast and efficient connections between Italian cities, offering significant time savings for both business and leisure travellers. The deployment of the Jetstream 32 enables AIS Airlines to provide a reliable and efficient regional operation that is well suited to this concept.

Further growth planned
This launch marks the beginning of a partnership with a clear focus on further growth. In the short term, both parties will explore opportunities to expand the number of aircraft deployed, enabling further development of the route network and increased frequencies.
With the launch of its new Italian operation and the recent expansion of its activities in Scotland, AIS Airlines is taking another significant step in its strategy to further establish itself as a European regional airline and operational partner.
